Next Valentine’s Day, entertainment company Warner Bros. is set to host a “truly magical” event for Harry Potter lovers, as it opens the doors of its Great Hall for a vegan-friendly romantic dining experience.
Seated at tables for two across the iconic movie set, after enjoying canapes and cocktails, guests will indulge in a luxury three-course meal, during which a complimentary keepsake photo will be taken as a momentum of their experience.
Following the dinner, couples will be invited to view other iconic sets from the movie, including the Gryffindor common room, the Weasley’s kitchen, Dumbledore’s office, and the Forbidden Forest. They will then have the opportunity to enjoy an exclusive after-hours drink on Platform 9 3/4.
Before a meander up Diagon Alley and a chance to gaze at the “breath-taking” model of Hogwarts Castle, guests will be offered a tankard of butterbeer. Unfortunately, the iconic wizard favourite is not vegan. However, some of the stars of the Harry Potter franchise want to change this fact.
In the Summer, vegan actor Evanna Lynch, who played Luna Lovegood, supported a petition named “Warner Bros. and Universal Studios: Make All Butterbeer Dairy-Free and Vegan.”
She said, “I’ve been a member of the vegan community for the past five years and the Harry Potter community for most of my life, and nothing makes me happier than when these two worlds intersect.”
“I genuinely can’t imagine a lovelier day out than going to The Wizarding World to enjoy a butterbeer with my vegan friends,” she added. “I will be first in line when that day comes.”
Butterbeer aside (for now), there will be plenty of vegan-friendly options available at the romantic event in February.
To start the three-course dining experience, “spiced beetroot tartare, cashew nut ‘ricotta,’ radish, celery leaf, and black quinoa crackers” will be served, and for the main, “butternut squash, spinach, and mushroom pithivier, cauliflower, tea-soaked sultanas and sweet potato fondant with mushroom veloute” is on offer.
The magical Harry Potter dining experience will take place at the Warner Bros. studios in Hertfordshire on February 14, 15, and 16. Tickets – priced at £485 – will go on sale from December 18.
