Vevolution Festival is fast approaching, with the event set to take place in Mayfair, London in less than two months. The TED talk style event has already announced some amazing speakers from Mercy for Animals founder Nathan Runkle, to former Made in Chelsea star Lucy Watson.
Today they’ve announced yet another exciting addition to the lineup: a vegan ‘Dragon’s Den’. The competition named ‘Pitch + Plant’ will see entrepreneurs pitching their plant-based ideas to a team of investors for the chance to win £1500, or a runner up prize of £500.
Never before have plant-based entrepreneurs been given the chance to win an investment at a vegan festival, and attendees of the event should expect to see some exciting ideas. Anyone wishing to take part can apply online here for the chance to be one of the 6 business that will be chosen for a chance to present their idea to investors at the show.
Vevolution are working in partnership with BRAN Investments to offer this amazing opportunity. BRAN Investments are a family company who Vevolution have described as ‘dedicated to supporting young entrepreneurs [with] a passion for helping the world adopt a more sustainable and vegan lifestyle.’
Co-Founder of Vevolution, Damien Clarkson, has said that he is ‘excited to announced this first collaboration between Vevolution and BRAN Investments.’ Adding, ‘Our events have become a real hub for entrepreneurs wanting to create positive change in the world.’
Worldwide, plant-based food sales are growing rapidly, with new businesses appearing almost every day that offer different options for people looking to eat plant-based. From Ben & Jerry’s to healthy alternatives to fish there seems to be no end to plant-based food possibilities.
Damien Clarkson believes that ‘the Pitch + Plant challenge at this year’s festival will be a showcase for all the innovation happening in the plant-based community.’
Not only will these businesses have a chance to win an investment, they will also be showcasing their ideas to non-vegans, who are set to make up around a third of attendees. This will give the plant-based world a chance to show off what they’re capable of, and potentially put the minds of non-vegans at rest if they’re concerned that a plant-based diet or vegan lifestyle is too restrictive.
Whether you’re looking to get your business off the ground, or just looking to learn a little more about being plant-based, Vevolution will no doubt be an exciting day filled with tasty food and insightful talks.
And to top it all off, every single guest will receive a free vegan goodie bag!
