As veganism continues to grow around the world, so does the number of places that people can buy ethically sourced, cruelty free products. Among them is new online store NotFrom, where you can get all the best vegan and environmentally friendly food products and toiletries.
Owner and founder of NotFrom, Dana Levy has set out to make products that are kind to the animals and kind to the environment more available. NotFrom stocks items that are completely vegan and almost all items are free from harmful chemicals such as paraben and MIT. Dana says that these chemicals are bad for the environment and bad for animal’s habitats, which is why we should do our best to avoid them.
NotFrom stock a wide variety of products from toiletries, household items and food. You can get a whole host of tasty treats from the site, they’ve even recently added vegan croissants to their range!
The long term goal of NotFrom is to push for legislative change. Dana notes that the meat, dairy and chemical industries all receive hefty subsidies despite the fact that they are having a big impact on the environment. In order to do this, Dana and the team at NotFrom hope to gain a solid customer base, so that they can lobby for change on behalf of their ethical consumers.
At this moment in time, it is impossible to buy a product that has no negative impact on the environment at all, and the team at NotFrom recognise that. Dana suggest that people ‘follow [their] own value system’ and that even the smallest of changes can make a huge difference in the long run.
Although people often believes that vegan and cruelty free products come with a big price tag, this is often not the case. For example one brand they stock on the site is Faith in Nature, and you can grab a 150ml bottle of Face & Body Polish, for £6.25.
At present, incredibly high quality vegan products, that don’t contain ingredients such as palm oil or chemicals, can be expensive. However, this is no different to quality non-vegan products. In addition to this, you often use less than you would of the lower quality stuff. However, these prices could come down dramatically if consumers who are able to spend a little more, choose ethical brands. Providing brands with a bigger customer base will allow them to bring their prices down.
NotFrom aim to be the go-to online supermarket for people wishing to protect animals and their habitats. For those who have specific requirements when making decisions about their purchases, NotFrom have a handy filter which allows you to choose which dietary requirements you need, which chemicals you’d like to avoid and how the products are sourced, for example palm oil free.
NotFrom delivers straight to your door, and comes beautifully presented. The team at LIVEKINDLY were luck enough to get a box full of tasty treats from, check out the video below to see what we got!
