Whether you are an animal lover on the prowl for cruelty-free skincare or simply in search of clean beauty ingredients, finding the perfect skincare products can be life-changing. The fact that the beauty market is increasingly saturated with new products, new brands, and new ingredients promising instant results doesn’t make the process any easier.
For those on a budget—high-quality, ethical skincare products usually come with a hefty price tag. But cruelty-free beauty doesn’t have to come at a sacrifice of quality—or your bank account.
California-based skincare brand Timeless Skin Care has created a line of products that are easy on the skin and your wallet. The company’s range of serums and hydrating sprays are all high-grade, cruelty-free, and inexpensive.
Veronica Pedersen, Timeless Skin Care’s CEO, says she enjoys the fact that she’s able to make a difference in the way people look and feel. “Most importantly, we believe skincare doesn’t have to be expensive to be effective,” Pedersen told LIVEKINDLY.
Founded by husband-and-wife duo Alex and Veronica Pedersen, Timeless Skin Care’s range of products not only work to revitalize and nourish the skin, but it also protects against future skin damage.
The company makes all of its products in small batches using high concentrations of active ingredients. Timeless Skin Care’s range is also free from fillers, dyes, fragrances, parabens, and other harmful chemicals. Plus, all of the products contain the skin-nourishing super ingredient, hyaluronic acid (HA).
“While looking for a way to heal his acne, Alex discovered the immense benefits of HA. This led to the creation of the first Timeless Skin Care Serum and the unique approach of including HA in all of the serums,” Pedersen explained.
The company’s Pure Line features 100 percent Hyaluronic Acid, Argan Oil, and Squalane serums that are natural and gentle on the skin.
Timeless Skin Care also offers a line of expertly crafted skin serums that combat some of the top skincare concerns. These include blemishes, dullness, and uneven skin tone. The brand’s four Hydrating Sprays instantly hydrate and nourish the skin while boosting its defenses against common environmental stressors.
The body’s outermost layer of skin, called the epidermis, can become damaged by sun exposure, environmental pollution, and other skin irritants like smoking. These can all result in dark spots, fine lines and wrinkles, and dry, dull skin.
HA, also known as hyaluronan, is a glycosaminoglycan. HA “is a sugar molecule that occurs naturally in the body, providing hydration for joints, eyes, and skin,” explained Pedersen. “[HA holds] up to 1000 times its molecular weight in water. It also works as a humectant, attracting moisture from the environment and binding it to skin cells.”
When used in skincare products, HA gives the skin a healthy glow because it can trap moisture in the skin. It can also continuously draw in moisture from the surrounding environment to promote lasting hydration for the skin.
By trapping in moisture, HA works to strengthen and protect the skin’s outer layers. Although HA doesn’t increase skin cell renewal, it can help promote skin cell regeneration through hydration.
However, similar to elastin and collagen, the amount of HA naturally found in the body decreases with age. Timeless Skin Care’s use of HA in its products helps to maintain levels of the water-retaining molecule in the skin. HA revitalizes the skin’s out surface layers for smoother, softer, and more radiant skin.
“With the belief that ‘Hydrated Skin is Healthy Skin’, hyaluronic acid is the foundation of all of [our] skincare products…. [HA] fills the skin with moisture, helping tighten [the] skin and improve elasticity, firming facial contours,” said Pedersen.
She says HA also helps fight acne by improving the lipid barrier. This allows the skin to better protect itself against inflammation and irritation, which causes breakouts.
