The nondairy frozen dessert category is no longer limited to popsicles even as tricked out as those have become. 2017 saw major ice cream manufacturers take the leap into the vegan dessert category with huge success: Ben & Jerry’s, Haägen Dazs, Halo Top, and Jeni’s — all launched into the nondairy ice cream category. And popular mochi ice cream category leader My/Mo Mochi Ice Cream is taking note of their success with the launch of its own vegan versions of its popular ice cream mochi treats.
“The launch of My/Mo Mochi Cashew Cream Frozen Dessert will introduce a new set of consumers to the colorful, bite-size snacking experience and strengthen the brand’s commitment to revolutionizing the snack world,” the company said in a statement.
At just 100 calories per treat, My/Mo Mochi Cashew Cream Frozen Desserts will also deliver a healthy alternative to dairy products for those on a plant-based or vegan diet or avoiding dairy for allergies or other reasons.
The vegan My/Mo Mochi come in several flavors to start: chocolate, salted caramel, strawberry, and vanilla. But if the success of the vegan mochi mirrors the success of other recent nondairy dessert launches, more flavors could soon be in the works.
My/Mo is sold at more than six thousand retail locations in the U.S.
