Trader Joe’s launched two new vegan drinks. The flavored almond milks — Matcha Almond Beverage and Blueberry Lavender Flavored Almond Beverage — are the newest items to expand the company’s vegan product range.

The popular chain shared an image of the products on Instagram. Trader Joe’s captioned, This #nondairy duo (sold separately) is about #almonds made into “milk” and artfully enhanced with #Matcha green tea powder—or natural #Blueberry flavor with #Lavender extract.”

“Both are screamy (smooth + creamy) & scrumptious in #smoothies, lattés, cereal, #fruitbowls the business wrote. Trader Joe’s revealed the drinks are vegan, kosher, gluten-free, and free from dairy and soy. Both drinks are made with “a touch of cane sugar.”

On its website, Trader Joe’s highlighted that almond-based beverages were “quite popular in Europe & China as far back as the 15th century.”

“Now, this creamy dairy alternative is once again in vogue.”

Describing its Blueberry Lavender flavor, Trader Joe’s wrote, “it tastes as if you’re frolicking through a blooming lavender field while eating blueberries.”

Matcha is “nearly as popular as almond beverages,” the company said. “The fine powder made from ground green tea leaves adds a rich and earthy flavor to this verdant Almond Beverage—no whisking necessary.”

Our Almond Beverages make for the perfect morning pick-me-up: serve chilled alongside your toast, fruit, yogurt or granola—maybe even pour it over your granola. Pour it into a mug & after a quick stint in the microwave, you’ve got a delicious before-bed beverage. Or use it to make the ultimate smoothie bowl.”

Tamara Pridgett, personal trainer and Fitness Editor at Popsugar, reviewed the product. “GUYS – it tastes delicious. I like that it isn’t extremely sweet, because any matcha aficionado knows that is not how quality matcha should taste, and my stomach is thankful for the nondairy aspect,” she wrote.

Trader Joe’s is no stranger to vegan-friendly products. The chain previously launched a vegan ready-made yellow jackfruit curry. Late last year, a variety of festive vegan food was made available at the store,  including turkey-less stuffed roast, almond nog, pumpkin bagels, apple pie, and chocolate sticks.

Trader Joe’s new almond-based drinks retail at $1.99.
