This September, Pret announced the good news that a third Veggie Pret store was set to open. Then they got you excited by releasing their vegan pumpkin spice flat white drinks and new autumn menu.
Now the best news of all is here: next Wednesday, Pret a Manger will open its third veggie store in Exmouth Market in Clerkenwell.
Pret posted the news on its Facebook page today, writing, “[w]e can’t bear to keep it a secret… #VeggiePret no.3 is coming soon to Exmouth Market, London.”
The new addition makes sense given their previous success with their two current Veggie Pret’s on Broadwick Street in Soho and Great Eastern Street in Shoreditch, the first of which was supposed to be a temporary pop-up but was made permanent due to it’s popularity! Despite staff believing Veggie Pret would fare worse than when the store had it’s usual offerings, sales increased by 70% during the pop-up period.
It’s unsurprising then that this much anticipated new store will be the first to open exclusively as a ‘Veggie Pret’ rather than evolving to become one.
And, of course, the menu (available from October 3rd in the existing stores) looks incredible. Even more excitingly, the store’s General Manager is offering a ‘sneak peek’ and free lunchtime food for a whopping five hundred customers on the Tuesday before the official opening. Pret is doing everything it needs to to lure us in!
Added to its list of vegan meals are a sweet potato, coconut and cashew flatbread, vegan chilli and avocado flat bread, and a vegan ragu and red pepper ‘hot wrap’, among many others. These dishes will join the existing selection, which currently includes treats such as a ‘Vegan Mac & Greens.’
It’s looking like the days where veganism is inconvenient may be coming to an end, and people have Pret to thank for that!
Peoples of Clerkenwell, put next Wednesday into your diary!
