Prince Harry and Meghan Markle aren’t the only royals eating more vegan food these days. Alexi Lubomirski, the couple’s Instafamous wedding photographer and a legit prince in his own right, is also vegan, reports the website Mamamia.
His Serene Highness Prince Alexi Lubomirski is a descendant of Polish royalty, receiving the family name from Emperor Ferdinand III in the 17th century. He reportedly lives up to his title, achieving a “serene” state through meditation twice a day, and all the guilt-free vegan eats. Lubomirski is apparently quite the royal behind the camera, too — an established fashion photographer. The couple reportedly found his work on Instagram, as one does when planning a royal wedding.
“I think one of Meghan’s friends saw me on Instagram that I was in England during the announcement of the engagement and I was told later that this person said to her, ‘You should meet Alexi. He’s great. You’d love him,’ and that was it,” he told E! News earlier this year.
In an interview with the Telegraph in 2016, Lubomirski discussed his vegan diet.
“You’ve just got to eat regularly, and healthily,” he said. “It’s no good just going out and ordering the salad – that’s not going to fill you up or satisfy you in any way. Vegans still have big appetites, and we just learn that you need to graze throughout the day. If I go to a restaurant, instead of a main course, I might order four big sides. You’ve got to improvise.”
There won’t be much need for improvising on the wedding day, though — the menu is sure to include vegan-friendly options as both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been reducing their meat intake ahead of the wedding, opting for whole grains and fresh juices instead of Prince Harry’s love for all things pizza.
But Lubomirski may not have much of an appetite anyway. He seems too giddy about the opportunity to capture the event.
“I could not be more thrilled or honoured to photograph this historic occasion,” he said. “Having taken Prince Harry and Ms. Markle’s engagement photos, it brings me such joy to be able to witness again, the next chapter in this wonderful love story.”
