Piers Morgan Compliments Pamela Anderson’s Healthy Vegan ‘Glow’

In a recent segment on Good Morning Britain, model and animal activist Pamela Anderson spoke to hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid about vegan athletes, her life in France, and the temptation of butter and croissants.

During the interview, Morgan mentioned that Anderson breaks the stigma sometimes associated with a vegan diet. “People say vegans look really ill, but you’re glowing with good health,” Morgan told Anderson.

“I do the best I can, I say I’m a ‘naughty vegan’ because I’m living in France. There is butter, there [are] croissants, there [are] all sorts,” Anderson explained. However, the model then added, “But, you can make a good vegan croissant,” after Reid pointed out that many rich foods are made with animal products.

Anderson isn’t the only celebrity to credit their vegan diet for their flawless complexion. In November of last year, singer Mya claimed that her plant-based lifestyle contributed to her youthful appearance. Actor Natalie Portman has also stated that her complexion has never been better than when following a vegan diet.

“I’m vegan and I found my skin is much, much better than when I was a vegetarian,” Portman told The Cut last summer. “[I] cut out dairy and eggs, and I never had a breakout after.”

But it’s not all about looks, veganism is equally about feeling fit and healthy. Anderson continued her interview on the daytime show to discuss the physical benefits of a vegan diet. “A lot of athletes [are vegan], it’s kind of a secret weapon,” she told the hosts.

Jermaine Defoe, Rich Roll, Meagan DuhamelLewis Hamilton, and Tia Blanco are just some of the many vegan athletes at the top of their game. In January, Defoe spoke out about his vegan diet and how it has provided him with a lengthy football career. He advised young, up-and-coming athletes to consider making the switch.

“This is me sending a message out to the younger players to say, if you can do what I am doing, and think about what you are eating, then they could play into their late 30’s and early 40’s,” Defoe stated.
