Piers Morgan Agrees to Watch Vegan Documentary

Piers Morgan has agreed to watch the vegan documentary “The Game Changers,” says plant-based strongman Patrik Baboumian.

Baboumian won the title of “Germany’s Strongest Man” back in 2011. He recently appeared on ITV’s “Good Morning Britain,” which Morgan presents alongside Susanna Reid.

During his appearance, Morgan — who is notoriously skeptical of vegan food — challenged Baboumian. He said, “[you’re] basic strength came from eating meat.”

The athlete responded, “you can’t really say that, because the thing is, your body needs protein right? If you stop eating protein you’re gonna crumble.”

He continued, “If there was anything in meat that my body would need, you know, it’s been more than a decade since I ate meat for the last time.” Baboumian is now 40, he hasn’t eaten meat since he was 26-years-old.

To prove his strength, he carried four “Good Morning Britain” staff members on a yoke across the studio.

Baboumian later posted a video on Instagram. He captioned the post, “yoke shenanigans … after this Piers said he was definitely going to watch [‘The Game Changers’].”

In a separate post, he added, “so this just happened! [James Wilks], I, and a yoke loaded with his fellow presenters just met Britain’s number one ‘vegan skeptic’ [Piers Morgan] at [‘Good Morning Britain’] and we got him to commit to watching [‘The Game Changers’].”

Vegan Athletes in ‘The Game Changers’

Produced by Academy Award-winning director James Cameron, “The Game Changers” documentary focuses on debunking the myth that meat is needed for protein.

It follows Wilks — elite special forces trainer and winner of “The Ultimate Fighter” — and stars several successful athletes, including Baboumian. Former bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenegger and Olympic cyclist Dotsie Bausch also feature.

The film was co-produced by Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton — a passionate advocate for veganism and animal rights –, tennis star Novak Djokovic, and actor and martial artist Jackie Chan.

Baboumian continued, “what do you think, are we going to get Piers to reconsider his stance on the topic?”

If not I’m happy to come back anytime,” he added. “[I’ll] take him out for a gym session to discuss any open question he might have.
