The third annual Phoenix Vegan Food Festival is due to be held today, Saturday, February 24, 2018. The event promises a full day of vegan food, entertainment, shopping, and fun with one hundred vegan-friendly vendors, twenty live performances and cooking demonstrations, and ‘one connected community.’

Attendees will be sure to get their plant-based fill with the vast array of vegan options. Food vendors include street food staples, bakeries, juice and coffee companies, and ethnic food concepts. Grab a bowl from Hummus Xpress, bite into a steam bun from Hot Bamboo, sip a cold-pressed juice from Juice Core, and take a cupcake to go from Positively Frosted. Finally, snap a selfie with a salty creation from Mustache Pretzels. With so many vegan options, sharing and Tupperware are highly recommended.

Those needing a break from their vegan food coma are encouraged to browse the non-food vendors and sample the entertainment. Purchase a pro-vegan t-shirt from one of the many vegan apparel companies, or learn from one of the animal rights non-profits. Vegans Rock Apparel, Cowhugger, Phoenix Animal Save, and PETA make up just a few of the wide array of non-food vendors.

In between pursuing the booths and happily noshing on vegan food, attendees will be entertained by a plethora of presentations and live music. Speakers include Dustin Harder (The Vegan Roadie), Cam F. Awesome (a vegan professional boxer), and Grey the Vegan Rapper, among other well-known vegan chefs, personalities, and musicians.

The festival has moved to a new location to accommodate this year’s vendor and entertainment expansion. It will be held at Margaret T. Hance Park in downtown Phoenix from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., though VIPs will be allowed exclusive early entrance at 10 a.m. Pre-sale tickets are $25 for general admission and $50 for VIP, which includes early access and fast passes to avoid long lines. Prices increase the day of the event.

The 2017 Phoenix Vegan Food festival attracted over three thousand attendees, according to the organization’s PR firm, Davisson Entertainment. The organizers hope to draw an even larger crowd at their new downtown venue.
