Following her award from peta2, Miley Cyrus has taken to Instagram with her heartfelt post expressing her love for the good work that’s being done by the vegan movement.
Using a picture of her and one of her pig companions, the star thanked PETA for the award and continued by saying ‘Living a completely vegan life style , whether it’s what I eat or wear I am very certain that veganism is taking over and stoked to see so many brands jumpin on this revolution!‘ She finished the post by reminding followers and brands that you don’t have to ‘torture or kill animals to sell fabulous products!‘
Miley, who has been vegan since 2014, has had a very vegan year. Back in July, she got a tattoo of the Vegan Society approved logo, later in the year she completed a BuzzFeed interview surrounded by rescue puppies, and she even admitted she doesn’t want to go on tour because she can’t bear to leave her pigs.
Miley’s work for justice isn’t limited to the animals. She also runs the Happy Hippie Foundation, an organisation dedicated to helping vulnerable youth whether they are homeless, LGBTQIA+, or otherwise vulnerable.
Although the date is yet to be confirmed, fans will soon be able to get their hands on Miley’s line of Converse which are sparkly, gender-binary free, and, of course, vegan.
