Can’t get enough of Lizzo’s drool-worthy, vegan TikTok recipes? Same.
The award-winning artist has been blowing up on TikTok recently, especially with all the delicious plant-based meals she’s been making. In this episode of LIVEKINDLY With Me, Ri Turner replicates Lizzo’s viral TikTok recipes for a whole week!
Watch to find out what she thinks about Lizzo’s Faux McChicken, Nature’s Cereal, Ramen, Collard Green Wraps, and Pizza.
“I was super excited to try Lizzo’s meals this week because her music, her personality, her confidence—just everything about her,” Turner explains. “She’s like one of my favorite humans walking this earth.”
“Overall, I had a lot of fun trying out Lizzo’s meals,” Turner says. “My favorite recipe was the ramen bowl. I absolutely love ramen bowls—oh, and the nature’s cereal was so good.”
Turner says before going vegan, she enjoyed ordering the spicy chicken sandwiches from Chick-fil-A. So, she was excited to try Lizzo’s plant-based version. The sandwich features a vegan chicken patty by plant-based food brand Quorn.
Turner served the meatless sandwich with a side of waffle fries. “That’s really good,” she says digging in for a bite. “I feel like adding cheese to this would have brought out the flavor a little bit more,” she adds.
For this viral TikTok recipe, Lizzo used coconut water. However, since Turner isn’t a fan, she uses coconut milk to recreate this vegan recipe. “Lizzo also added ice in hers,” she explains. “It’s actually really, really good. Yeah, this is bomb.”
For Hump Day, Turner whips up a ramen bowl. The bowl is packed with nourishing ingredients like kale, broccoli, and garlic. Turner omits the curry Lizzo used, instead opting for liquid aminos. “That’s fire,” she says. “Hot, but good. That broccoli—boiled to perfection. This is actually really bomb.”
“My expectations for this meal isn’t that high,” Turner says before whipping up Lizzo’s TikTok recipe for her fourth meal of the week. “We have hummus here. And I’m not a huge fan of hummus. She also used pickles—I don’t really like pickles.”
Instead of pickles, Turner opts for cucumbers. After taking her first bite, Turner adds: “It’s actually not bad. Will I make this the exact same way that she made it ever again? Probably not. But it is not bad.”
Another day, another Lizzo meal. “I stan for a good vegan pizza,” Turner says. The veggie pizza features tomato basil pasta sauce, arugula, vegan chicken, and dairy-free cheddar and mozzarella. “That’s pretty good,” she says. “Okay, Lizzo. I give that a 10 out of 10.”
