Craving a cheesy slice of pie without all the dairy? Blaze Pizza has you covered. The build-your-own pizza chain has several plant-based menu offerings that anyone can enjoy. Here’s how to order from the Blaze Pizza vegan menu.
Pizza Chains Embrace Veganism
Blaze isn’t the first pizza chain to get vegan options. Plant-based choices are popping up on pizza chain menus around the world with growing frequency.
Earlier this summer, Pizza Hut Puerto Rico launched two new Beyond Meat sausage pizzas. And the UK got all the vegan pizza options this year. Papa John’s UK announced it would be launching vegan chili pizzas and a vegan breakfast sausage pizza.
Pizza Hut UK launched its very first vegan stuffed crust pizza featuring Violife’s dairy-free cheese earlier this year. It also offers two meatless meat options: pulled jackfruit and pea protein-based “Pepperphoni.” Pizza Hut UK first launched vegan cheese back in 2017. Just one year later, Australia got its very own plant-based cheese by Dairy Free Down Under. For a complete guide to eating vegan at Pizza Hut, click here.
What Is Blaze Pizza?
For those that haven’t ordered from the popular pizza chain before, Blaze sets itself apart from other pizza restaurants by giving customers full control over making their pie extra tasty.
From the dough and the sauce down to the toppings, you can handpick everything you want to take your pizza to the next level. You can even watch your pie being made in one of the Blaze’s ovens, which can heat up the pies in only 180 seconds!
Founded in 2011, the fast-casual pizza brand operates restaurants in 39 states. It also has locations in Canada and Guam.
In February of last year, the pizza chain revealed it is working to take on major pizza companies like Domino’s. Blaze’s co-founder Rick Wetzel spoke to Bloomberg about the company’s goals, revealing that it aims to have more than 500 locations.
It also plans to introduce drive-thru and delivery services. Bloomberg noted that Blaze believes it will “win over customers from bigger competitors with its ingredients that include arugula, pesto, and even vegan cheese.”
“We’ve got a more modern offering,” said Elise Wetzel, Blaze’s co-founder and chief marketing officer. “We’re going after those larger players.”
Blaze Pizza Is Turning Up the Heat
A handful of high-profile figures have already invested in the artisanal pizza chain. These include the former First Lady of California Maria Shriver, Boston Red Sox co-owner Tom Werner, and NBA athlete James. To invest in Blaze, James left his deal with McDonald’s and surrendered $15 million in the process. In 2012, the athlete even opened up two of his own Blaze restaurants.
In 2017, Forbes reported that the vegan-friendly pizza company was the fastest-growing restaurant chain ever.
And although its menu includes meat and dairy, Blaze is definitely veg-forward. Here’s a complete guide on how to order vegan at Blaze Pizza.

How Do You Order from Blaze Pizza’s Vegan Menu?
From veggie toppings to meatless meat, Blaze has a number of tasty vegan options to try. When ordering vegan at the restaurant chain, you have two options: opt for a pre-made vegan pizza or choose to build your own.
Order A Pre-Made Vegan Pizza
In 2019, Blaze stepped up its vegan game by launching a 100 percent plant-based pizza as part of its Life Mode Pizzas collection. The range also features vegetarian and keto options. The vegan pizza includes red sauce, vegan cheese, spicy vegan chorizo, mushrooms, red onions, green bell peppers, basil, and olive oil. Yum!
Build-Your-Own Vegan Pizza
In addition to pre-made vegan pizzas, you can also build-your-own pizza, choosing from a wide variety of plant-based ingredients. Here is a rundown on how to build the ultimate vegan pizza using all the tasty plant-based ingredients the chain has to offer.
Pick Your Crust
All of your bases are covered at Blaze! According to the pizza chain, its original, house-made gluten-free and high-rise dough options are all vegan-friendly.
Select Your Sauce
Once you’ve decided on a crust, it’s time to slather on the sauce. Blaze offers four different sauce options—classic red sauce, spicy red sauce, white cream sauce, and garlic pesto sauce—but the two latter sauces feature dairy. So, opt for either the classic or spicy red sauce.
Pick Your Cheese
Why make your pizza cheeseless when you don’t have to? Blaze offers Daiya’s soy- and dairy-free cheese for a melty, stretchy, gooey slice of pizza heaven.
Layer On The Veggie Toppings
Veggie-lovers rejoice! The pizza chain has all of the vegetable toppings you need to satisfy your grumbling belly. Blaze’s veggie offerings include: artichokes, banana peppers, basil, black olives, cherry tomatoes, chopped garlic, fresh basil, green bell peppers, jalapenos, kalamata olives, mushrooms, pineapple, oregano, pineapple, red onions, red peppers, roasted Brussels sprouts, roasted garlic, sauteed onion, and spinach.
Add A Vegan Meat
Meat-free? No problem. In 2019, the vegan-friendly restaurant chain added plant-based chorizo to its menu. And we’re here for it! The meatless Spicy Chorizo is available at all of Blaze’s 300-plus locations in America. The chorizo—which is traditionally a fermented, cured, smoked pork sausage—contains no animal products or gluten. It was developed in-house by Blaze’s Executive Chef Bradford Kent and is offered at no additional charge.
“We wanted to create a vegan protein option that could be enjoyed by all pizza lovers regardless of their dietary preference. That’s exactly what our new Spicy Chorizo offers,” Kent said in a statement. “It’s flavorful enough to be the sole protein option on the pizzas, but also complements other veggies or meat toppings. We’re really fired up for guests to get a taste of it.”
Select Your Finishes
Once you’ve topped your personal pie with all the vegan cheese and chorizo your heart desires, top it off with one (or three!) of Blaze’s finishes. Options include arugula, BBQ drizzle, buffalo sauce, Frank’s Red Hot Drizzle, oregano, and sea salt.
Vegan menu offerings are popping up in pizza chains like Blaze Pizza with frequency, making eating plant-based even easier. So, the next time you’re craving a vegan pie, opt for Blaze.
