Name a better way to satisfy a sweet tooth than with a brownie box. We’ll wait. Loaded with a variety of brownie flavors, brownie boxes are becoming more popular. And we just had to make our own.
On this episode of EATKINDLY With Me, model and plant-based chef Nathan-Josias makes vegan tiramisu brownies. “Brownie boxes have been such a trend lately. I have to make my own,” he says.
To get inspiration, Nathan-Josias visits one of London’s most popular bakery shops, Konditor.
“The objective of the brownie box was to make it more accessible to as many people as possible during COVID,” says Konditor baker Maureen.
Nathan-Josias brings home his own brownie box of vegan pecan brownies. “These vegan pecan brownies are delicious,” he says after taking a bite. “So rich, but I have to say, there was one brownie that caught my eye [at the bakery]: the tiramisu brownie.” Since the bakery didn’t have the flavor in vegan form, he decides to create a dairy-free version on his own at home.
The creamy, Italian dessert is coffee-flavored (it features espresso!) and features layers of ladyfingers covered in whipped cream, mascarpone cheese, and cocoa. Traditionally not vegan, Nathan-Josias uses a variety of ingredients to create a tiramisu brownie blend, including dark chocolate, vegan cream cheese, and soy milk. Here’s the full recipe:
