Vegan cosmetics brand Beauty Bakerie is now available at Ulta Beauty Stores across the U.S.
Ethical, cruelty-free, and inclusive, Beauty Bakerie was founded by Cashmere Nicole back in 2011. After enduring a battle with cancer, Nicole aims to “sweeten the lives” of others with her cosmetic products.
“We aim to uplift and inspire the beautiful faces of the skin tones and ethnicities of the world with our commitment to being Better not Bitter,” notes the Beauty Bakerie website.
Earlier this year, the brand made headlines for the release of its foundation line “Cake Mix.” Different from most other lines of makeup, Cake Mix was ordered from dark shades through to light, to encourage “unity, understanding, and love” among consumers.
“For Black women, in particular, we are reminded everywhere we go, on a daily basis multiple times throughout the day, that we are second,” Nicole told Teen Vogue. Adding that to find their shade with other brands, Black women are often “scrolling to the bottom of a list.”

The foundation line is not currently available with Ulta, but a number of the brand’s other products are, including its Wake and Bake Face Oil, Lip Whip Gloss, and Game of Cones – an eyeshadow palette themed around the hit TV show “Game of Thrones.” The HD Flour Setting Powder is also available, labeled a “must buy” by Allure Magazine.
One Beauty Bakerie customer said of the setting powder, “[It] has no flashback, keeps me matte…prolongs my makeup, [and] doesn’t clog my pores or break me out.”
The brand is not the first cruelty-free cosmetics company to team up with Ulta this year. Back in February, affordable beauty brand ColourPop launched on to the shelves of the chain store. According to Ulta, demand for the brand’s range of (mostly) vegan products was high, labeling ColourPop a “trendsetting and innovative” company.
Beauty Bakerie’s products are available online and in 350 stores across the U.S. For more information, please see here.
