In case you were looking for something a little extra for your breakfast, British supermarket chain Asda now sells vegan unicorn crumpets.
The new snacks are best paired with raspberry jam, according to the product’s packaging, and make for a “magically tasty breakfast.”
Instagram account Accidentallyveganuk shared an image of the plant-based treat online, and social media users flocked to celebrate it. “I need these,” one person wrote, while another dubbed the creation “crumpicorns.”
Vegan Unicorn Products
Unicorn-themed goods are having a moment; the mythical creature has inspired a wave of new products, catering to those who see no harm in welcoming a little bit of magic into their lives.
Spanish winery Gik created a vegan Unicorn Tears wine. It’s an “authentic pink rosé that will add the magic touch to any party,” according to Gik. It adds that the beverage is made with “real unicorn tears” — collected through cruelty-free methods — and carries a fruity, candy-esque scent and taste.
“It is well known that unicorn tears have the power to transform unexciting days into wonderful days,” the winery’s website reads.
Lucky for unicorn-lovers, the trend doesn’t end at food and drinks. Cruelty-free and vegan beauty brand Lime Crime produces “makeup for unicorns.”
The company — which is based in Los Angeles but arrived on UK shores last year — was founded a decade ago. According to founder Doe Deere, Lime Crime’s mission is “to create products and experiences that transport you to a magical world where you can express yourself apologetically, experiment with every color of the rainbow and escape from looking like everyone else.”
The brand offers iridescent fairy highlighters, metallic lipsticks, and unicorn hair mist and dye.
Cruelty-free cosmetics company Barry M also makes vegan and unicorn-friendly products. Last year, the beauty brand launched Unicorn Primer Drops, made with “superfruits,” including goji and açaí berries, watermelon, and tamarind. Barry M says the primer will protect, hydrate, smooth, and brighten your skin.
