Arnold Schwarzenegger just shared a video of his coronavirus lockdown workout featuring his donkey Lulu—one of the animals he shares his home with.

The 72-year-old bodybuilder, actor, and former politician shared the short workout video on his Twitter. In the clip, Schwarzenegger completes a number of workout exercises while his animal companion, Lulu the donkey, observes and joins in.

Schwarzenegger and Lulu are joined in their coronavirus lockdown by Whisky the miniature pony, who also features heavily on the actor’s social media. In March, Schwarzenegger shared a video on Instagram showing dinner time at his home in California.

The clip showed him sharing carrots with his animal companions at the dinner table. Schwarzenegger also promoted the importance of staying home during the coronavirus lockdown, as he has done since the pandemic began.

“See that is what we do. We don’t go out, we don’t go to the restaurants, we don’t do anything like that,” explained Schwarzenegger. “We just eat with Whisky and Lulu have a good time and be entertained and we have a good time eating here together!”

California Governor Gavin Newsom asked seniors and those with chronic health conditions, in particular, to stay home. “Especially when you are 72-years-old,” said Schwarzenegger on Instagram.

“Stay at home as much as possible. Listen to the experts, ignore the morons,” wrote Schwarzenegger on Instagram. “We will get through this together.‬”

‘I Love It Much More Than the Meat’

Schwarzenegger hasn’t yet confirmed if he is vegan, but he is a vocal proponent of plant-based food. In 2018, he co-produced vegan documentary “The Game Changers.”

According to Schwarzenegger, eating more plant-based food helped lower his cholesterol. In the film, the former bodybuilder said he used to eat huge quantities of meat and eggs before realizing animal products were not the only source of protein.

“As I got older and I started reading up on it, I recognized the fact that you really don’t have to get your protein from meat—or from animals,” said Schwarzenegger. “So we started going more in the direction of a vegetarian kind of diet.”

“Now we’re doing it the right way,” he continued. “With spices, and all of a sudden, I love it much more than the meat.”
