Jada Pinkett-Smith Served Vegan Food to Her Family This Thanksgiving

Vegan Rapper Grey Inspired Jada-Pinkett Smith to Serve Vegan Food Over Thanksgiving

Prior to this year’s Thanksgiving, actor Jada Pinkett-Smith revealed on Instagram she would serve up vegan dishes to her guests.

Pinkett-Smith, whose A-List family includes husband and actor Will Smith, son Jaden Smith, and daughter Willow Smith, posted a video of vegan rapper Grey – aka Plant Based Drippin – on her Instagram account. She captioned the post, “We’ll be serving some of that Thanksgiving #PlantBasedDrip this year. My fav vegan rapper @officialgreymusic…”

In the video, Grey – along with Chef Nikki, who works as a personal plant-based chef – rapped about enjoying a vegan Thanksgiving and noted that with options like Tofurky on the table, no one has to miss out.

This is not the first time Pinkett-Smith has shared one of Grey’s videos with her followers. Back in the summer, the entrepreneur shared another of his vegan raps on her Instagram account. She captioned the post, “Monday morning cipher with some #PlantBasedDrippin @officialgrey music. That cadence tho.”

While Pinkett-Smith has not confirmed if she is vegan, her son Jaden is known for his firm belief in ditching meat for the sake of the environment. Last year, he even partnered with vegan meat brand Impossible Foods to promote its plant-based “bleeding” burger, the Impossible Burger.

The Smiths were not alone in embracing vegan food this Thanksgiving. In the weeks leading to the holiday, a number of celebrities encouraged their fans to ditch the turkey this year, including “The Big Bang Theory” star Kaley Cuoco and filmmaker Kevin Smith.

Both celebrities appeared in videos for the farm animal welfare organization Farm Sanctuary, discussing the intelligent and loving nature of turkeys. In his video, Smith addressed the turkeys and promised “I will never eat another turkey. And I will go out of my way to see that others might not as well.”

Even President Trump’s grandchildren swore off turkey this year. After watching the traditional turkey pardoning ceremony at the White House, Joseph and Arabella told their mother Ivanka they would like a vegetarian Thanksgiving feast this year.
