Updated May 27, 2019 | Demand for plant-based products that are kinder to the environment, the animals, and our health is rising in the UK.
According to a study by Sainsbury’s, 91 percent of Brits are trying to reduce their meat intake and now identify as flexitarian. This soaring demand means there are more vegan options than ever on UK menus and supermarket shelves, from dairy-free pizzas and mozzarella sticks to “bleeding” plant-based burgers and meatless sausage rolls (looking at you, Greggs).
Aside from the latter, one of the most popular lunchtime options in the UK is a sandwich, and nowadays, there are plenty of meat and dairy-free options on the market to choose from. Here are 10 of the UK’s tastiest vegan sandwiches.
