U.K.-based pub chain All Bar One has added four vegan options to the menu in its more than 50 locations across the region.
“Gone are the days when healthy eating meant torturing yourself with a boring and restrictive diet,” the company wrote in a press release. Each new menu item promises a vitamin-rich meal highlighting fresh, colorful produce, seasonal ingredients, and bold flavors. Additionally, All Bar One worked with a registered nutritionist in order to ensure that customers get the most out of the new vegan options.
Vegan By Popular Demand
The decision to include new vegan options was sparked after the restaurant experienced an incredible 50 percent increase in the number of dishes sold from its Veganuary menu in January. It is also part of the brand’s ongoing “Wellness” program that promotes healthy eating.
The new menu items include the “Avocado and Black Rice Salad,” a quinoa-based bowl that features soybeans kale, creamy avocado, coconut dressing, and tortilla crisps. The “Power of Five” bowl is composed of a pan-fried medley of leafy greens with roasted butternut squash, aubergine, mushrooms, and peppers topped with sesame-miso sauce and a rice noodle cracker. The “Moroccan Squash Salad” combines roasted butternut squash with spiced quinoa, chickpeas, and sugar snap peas topped with pomegranate arils and a coconut-turmeric dressing. All Bar One is also bringing back its popular Veganuary menu option, the “Supergreen Noodle Laksa,” a noodle bowl topped with pak choi, bean sprouts, and spiced coconut sauce.
Nutritionist Developed Recipes
“When All Bar One asked me to create a range of dishes that help their customers contribute to their 5 a day and nourish their body from the inside out, I couldn’t wait to get started,” said All Bar One resident nutritionist, Sarah Jackson.“After lots of research, recipe development and nutritional analysis we have created four amazing dishes to go into the ‘Nutritious Power-foods’ range. The dishes are not only packed with healthy nutrients but are also full of flavour!”
Diners can pair the healthy vegan pub food with All Bar One’s selection of vegan-friendly wine and beer. For vegan dessert options, All Bar One offers a chocolate avocado mousse pot or a raspberry and coconut sorbet.
It’s no wonder that All Bar One’s Veganuary promotion was a hit with customers. Recent data shows that the number of Brits who identify as vegan surged by 700 percent in just two years. Additionally, a reported eight million Brits no longer eat meat.
All Bar One’s new vegan options will be available at all 56 of the pub chain’s locations throughout the nation.
