Cinnaholic, the popular vegan cinnamon roll chain that makes freshly baked sweet goodies, has confirmed the locations of its first four Canadian stores set to open later this year.
Florian Radke, Co-Founder of Cinnaholic, CMO of vegan biotech company Wild Earth, and advisor on the board of plant-based seafood company New Wave Foods, told LIVEKINDLY: “Cinnaholic is experiencing an extreme growth at the moment and has recently been named one of Entrepreneur Magazine’s 50 faster growing new franchises in the US! We’re excited to be able to extend this success to our partners and customers in Canada.”
Last November, Cinnaholic announced its expansion after securing a master franchise deal with a Canadian-based company. The chain says it will open as many as 70 stores across Canada. The first four locations will be in Winnipeg, Toronto, Edmonton, and Danforth.
Cinnaholic allows customers to pick out their own vegan cinnamon roll and choose from 30 frosting flavors and more than 20 toppings.
“We’re not your typical cinnamon roll shop,” the dessert franchise states on its website. “In addition to being 100% vegan, we offer more than just your average ‘Old Fashioned’ roll. We have a variety of different flavors that are waiting to be explored, all made with the highest quality ingredients to tickle your taste buds.”
The new Cinnaholic locations will join a diverse lineup of vegan food outlets in Canada. Earlier this year, Vancouver’s first ever all-vegan cheese shop opened. Additionally, Westcoast Poké, a Hawaiian restaurant found in Vancouver, now offer the closest vegan alternative to ahi tuna (raw tuna). Notably, last year’s Google search analytics affirmed the growing interest in veganism within the country, as ‘vegan food’ was among the top most searched trends.
Cinnaholic’s new locations will likely be welcomed in Canada’s increasingly popular vegan scene. The country is set to host the “world’s first” vegan film festival later this year, and is already home to a Canada-based podcast which discusses laws surrounding animal welfare.
According to Cinnaholic, “every one of us has the power to make a positive change in this world for the animals, the planet and the people.”
