In a move that could ‘double the company’s store count and revenues within a year,’ vegan milk brand, Milkadamia, will soon be available at Walmart.
CEO of Milkdamia Jim Richards told Food Navigator that he thinks it’s important for big stores to start stocking interesting, innovative products. ‘My own personal view is that mainstream grocery see it as a big bunch of clientele they can end up on the wrong side of history with if they don’t start putting artisanal and interesting products in their stores,’ claims Richards.
Milkadamia, which is already available in over 2,000 stores across America, including Whole Foods and Sprouts, will hit Walmart shelves in January of 2018.
As the name suggests, Milkadamia is a plant milk made from macadamia nuts. Although not a common vegan milk, macadamias boast a variety of health benefits. The nuts are thought to promote brain health, bone health and heart health as well as being completely cholesterol-free and packed full of protein.
Currently, Milkadamia offers four different products: Original, Unsweetened, Unsweetened Vanilla and Latte de Barista. A 240ml serving of Milkadamia is between 50 and 70 calories
Milkadamia will be available in the refrigerated section of Walmart for you to kickstart your new year with a heart-healthy coffee or bowl of cereal.
