Amy’s Kitchen is a popular brand these days, having worked since 1987 on over 250 different products to bring fresh, organic food to the masses. With their openness to change and different lifestyles — whether vegan, kosher, gluten-free, lactose-free, or nut-free — they’ve expanded throughout the United States and 25 other countries around the world. As they continue to grow, the company was excited to announce that they have recently named a new Global President and a new Director of Domestic Sales.
Founders Rachel and Andy Berliner selected Xavier Unkovic as their new Global President. Unkovic brings experience from Mars Inc., the brand behind M&Ms and Skittles. Mars made headlines back in September when they announced new sustainability plans, wherein they would take responsibility for their environmental impacts. However, this announcement was, in some ways, sullied by the prominence of palm oil in their products.
Co-founder Andy Berliner said, “As a company, Amy’s believes in taking the time to do things the right way, and investing in a long-term vision. We put these values in place at the beginning, and I am looking forward to working with Xavier to build upon this foundation for the next generation. His leadership will help drive our innovation and support our customers’ goals to satisfy the growing market for high quality organic food.”
The Berliners also announced Justin Neal as the new Director of Domestic Sales. “Justin’s experience navigating the brand through periods of significant growth, combined with his understanding of the quality that Amy’s brings to its categories, make him an invaluable leader for the team,”Andy said.
In addition to their frozen and canned products, Amy’s Kitchen also runs Amy’s Drivethru, which was the first of its kind to offer only vegetarian and organic food. Amy’s drive-thru and strong, long-lived brand, are both capitalizing on the growing demand for cleaner, plant based food. Some might call it the food of the future.
