Busy on October 20th-22nd? If you’re not, here’s something for you to do; if you are, we hope it’s this you’re busy with!
Vegfest UK is opening the UK’s very first one-of-a-kind vegan trade and media show at Olympia London next Friday.
According to the Vegfest UK organisers, “[t]he growth in the vegan trade has been astronomical, and as such, both media and trade attention has blossomed in the past few years, so much so that we now need a dedicated trade event where only trade buyers and media can attend, ensuring maximum sales and exposure for vegan businesses in the UK, resulting in added accessibility for vegan consumers nationwide.”
Hemp company Yaoh, who has been backing vegan events for 15 years, is the event’s official sponsor. And, adding a nice bit of history, they will be joined by the UK’s first ever vegan business Plamil Foods, which was founded in 1963 as a provider of vegan chocolate, mayo and other ‘guilt-free’ goodies.
The event will host a whopping 160 stalls with “all the cutting edge vegan products coming onto the market” and roughly 2,000 media representatives and trade buyers are expected to attend.
But you don’t need to feel left out if you are neither a trader nor media rep! On Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd, the VegfestUK London consumer event will open up to the public for its fifth year.
The benefits of going are extensive. Whether you want to go to pig out on delicious vegan food served by 23 different caterers in the Vegan Food Village, make the most of special discounts, meet your favourite vegan celebrities (including James Aspey!), listen to a range of educational talks (such as on animal rights, radical veganism, health, athletes, environment and food sustainability, and activism), laugh your socks off at vegan comedians, or just take a relaxing stroll around the Art of Compassion Exhibition and chill out at the cinema, there’s something for everyone!
There’s even fun for the kids: children will have a chance to learn how to cook great vegan meals from the in-house ‘Pirate Captain’ James Tea Cook, or be amazed by magic-shows and face-painting. As a bonus for the parents, children under the age of 16 get free entry!
There’s something for every age at VegFest, with a ‘Mature Zone’ for learning about vegan-care in advanced years of life, and a ‘Teen Zone’ great for socialising if you’re between 11 and 19.
If you still can’t imagine how dynamic and fun this event will be, you can check out videos of last year’s event here.
You can also check out the event on the Facebook event page and purchase your tickets now. We hope to see you there!
