Australia’s vegan movement has been picking up pace for some time now, with plant-based eateries popping up all over the country. What’s more, they’re proving to be a huge success! Thanks to Aussie’s new found love for vegan food, Melbourne will now be home to a Mini Vegan Market every single month!
The market will pop up every first Saturday as of 2nd September in different places around the city. The first location will be Abbotsford Convent and the market will be open from 8am.
Even the first event is promising to be exciting, with the market undoubtedly featuring some amazing plant-based food. It may be best to arrive at the market with an empty stomach and a full wallet, because there’ll be an array of tasty treats to choose from. Savoury options such as Woking Amazing’s Asian Street Food, lunch boxes from Good Freaking Food, and pies from Yay Foods (who donate 10 percent of their profits to Edgar’s Mission, an animal sanctuary).
Don’t panic, there will be plenty on offer for dessert too. You can grab a chocolatey treat from Girl Made Chocolate, which is all organic, or even pick from a selection of raw trans from Lady Rawsome.
Each business making an appearance at the market will not just offer vegan options but actually be 100% vegan owned and operated, so you don’t have to worry about where you’re spending your pennies.
If food’s not your jam then there will also be Polished Petals who offer natural bath and beauty products as well as handmade clothes from Leo the Label. The first market will take place on Vegan T-Shirt day too, so make sure you rock up in your favourite veggie t-shirt, just so everyone know where you’re going.
Events like this prove just how popular plant-based eating and vegan lifestyles are becoming in Australia. If you want to keep up to date with all the businesses appearing at the market then why not join the Facebook event here!
